May 12 2010 PHI v COL Game 2. No Handjob For Halladay

Yesterday's game was postponed due to a burrito shortage in Denver so a doubleheader was scheduled for today. Coming off allegations from faggot Jim Tracy that Phil's bullpen coach  Mick Billmeyer was using binoculars to steal Miguel Olivo's signs* and this being the homecoming game for Halladay, there was some tension icing the vegan cupcake at Coors Field.

Something about old Roy was off from the very second game 1 ticked off. Death Dealer got out of the box with an uncharacteristic shit-hump start giving up 2 singles, a walk and a run in the 1st. This wouldn't seem to threatening if it hadn't happened all so quickly and solely in the 1st but he continued to get himself into shit situation after shit situation with no run support until the top 4 when Rooster smacked in Big Piece for the first run of the day. Next inning Chutley pushes in Polanco and Raul sac flies in Chut to give the men a 3-1 lead.

This glimmer of non-shit twinkled until the bottom 7th, Halladay on his last legs at pitch 6000, giving up a 1out triple to Brad Hawpe tying the game up at 3. Bye-bye Roy. Looks like you won't be getting the hand job under the bleachers you expect at homecoming. He's only human and their is always Bang Bus. J.C. Romero came into clean up the side, respectively.

Chad Durbin took us into the the 10th like a man until he lobbed and easy-peasey one to Miguel Olivo who sent the first pitch of the inning and our hope for a sweep over the left fucking field wall. Fuck life. Game over, 4-3.

I don't have the fancy stats that lover-man Wheels has in the booth so I can't tell you how Moyer pitches in cold conditions. I hope its fucking good. Maybe the confidence of last weeks shutout will raise the main-vain a bit and get us to Milwaukee fierce.

Ruiz also landed hard on his knee going out of the game and onto the day-day dl. Paul Hoover, you better not fuck it up tonight. Pressure, kid. It's not that long of a flight back to Kent.

Here is Australia and I believe on that other shitty, pasty island near Europe they call these things "nappies". I know, I keep telling them they're adults, too.

I wonder if Don Imus was Australian he would've called all those grizzled lesbians on the Rutgers Women's Basketball team "diaper-headed hoes" instead. Very timely joke.

  1. I mentioned before that I take the annual regular season series trip to Colorado with a "let the chips fall" mindset (as long as they dont get swept) and I would take todays sloppy loss in 40 degree weather as such but hearing of Chooch leaving the game injured really blows. I always figure the worst when this happens as the Phillies have a long history of downplaying injuries. "day-to-day" ends up being "extended DL stint". Now its Lidge and Chooch. I figure Contreras could take Lidges spot and Mathieson be brought up and it would hold, but losing Chooch really hurts. Its just as good the game today ended in the 10th rather than dragging on another few innings, esp with a 7-9 hole in the lineup. So, go get 'em Jamie or at least throw 6-7 even if you kinda suck tonight and may be bats be cracking.

  2. Chooch was hot, so it cuts even deeper that his opposite number Olivo really stuck it to us twice today.

It always hurts when the ace blows one, but it's gonna happen from time to time. Extra death will be dealt next ime.

No matter what goes wrong or what signs of trouble we're seeing, it's too early to panic about anything that happens in May. Just to put it all in perspective, on May 12, 2009, the Toronto Blue Jays were 25-12.

    RACHE! MACHT SCHNELL!

  3. Yeah, from all accounts Doc didnt have his best stuff but even at that, seems that tighter defense would have given him 7IP 1 ER in shitty 40 degree weather. Rain delay now, but LA is grousing that it aint nothing and they should get it going..watching the Flyers game, way early but they are up 1-0
